Bye, Bye Bad Days: The Power of Positive Affirmations
Affirmations are really just anything we think or speak — both positive and negative.
Unfortunately, most of us tend to overemphasize the negative. We worry, stress, shame ourselves, and create guilt which, when added up, can lead to a very bad day.
Without even realizing it, it’s all too easy to get pulled into that pattern of overemphasizing the negative internal dialogue and not leaving space for all of the positives in our lives and minds. It’s okay. We’re human.
The good news? We can actually retrain our brains through positive affirmations! This is exactly why we so often focus on various affirmation-based exercises in SCS classes, and the goal of the morning pep talk.
Through intentional focus and repetition — à la daily pep talks or self-care exercises — we have the power to eliminate those negative inclinations and can direct our energy towards more positive and productive feelings.
To quote Louise Hay, one of the world’s foremost thinkers on the subject…
By actively choosing to focus on positive affirmations and our dreams — even if they haven’t happened yet — we have the power to create our own realities, and manifest good things into existence.

Finally, I wanted to share a little sample of what my personal affirmations script looks like this month.
While your pep talk will undoubtedly look much different than mine, and evolve over time (I like to change things up every few weeks), my hope is it helps to inspire how you approach your own custom script.
Good Morning, Danika.
Wow, it’s going to be an amazing day! First things first, I want you to remember how powerful, impactful, and strong you are.
The ways your loved ones describe you are: determined, fearless, visionary, and inspiring.
Every day, you are moving closer towards co-creating everything you dream of. A few of those things are a beautiful, big, healthy family, total freedom — financial, location, and time — and a huge positive impact on millions of people’s lives.
Now, through all of our experience, we’ve learned a lot about what helps you to thrive. I know you already know, but I wanted to remind you of a few things that really help you to have an epic day:
- Getting enough sleep is critical for you and it’s the time you choose to unplug and get in bed the night before that helps everything.
- Moving your body is essential for your mental health – even 15 minutes will make a difference.
- Nourishing foods are a no brainer and sugar makes you reactive, foggy, and depressed.
- Nature is always empowering so get outside when you can.
- Getting dressed and putting on a little makeup always helps.
Don’t forget how incredible you are. These are some of the things that help make you really awesome:
- You are a magnet for miracles and abundance so stay in that energy.
- You have plenty of time to do it all so schedule yourself lovingly and unplug now and then.
- Don’t forget to play and to be firm in your boundaries.
- And always make time to go inward and connect with your source and yourself. That quiet time is essential.
Now remember, in creating a great life, you’re really just creating a collection of great days, so let’s make this one of them!
You are expanding, you are playful, you are abundant, you are impactful, you are taken care of.
This is your day. This will be a great day. This is the time. Let’s do this.
